Shortcuts

Quick Menu
Want to chat or call someone faster? Take advantage of our new QuickMenu (launched from the Extensions window search field). Use your arrow keys, number keys, or mouse to navigate this menu. Who needs groups ;)

TIP: The QuickMenu comes up automatically when you use the Extension Search feature. If it gets in the way, you can disable the auto-launch of the menu in the settings. Pressing "Enter/Return" in the Extension Search will activate the menu manually.

"New In HUD!" Window
To keep users informed about the hottest features, we've created the "New In HUD!" window.

Launch Web Page After Call
We've added the ability to launch a web page when a call has ended (not transferred). Look in your "Web Launcher" settings for all options.

Extension Search "Search in hidden groups" Setting
This setting supports the "Extension Search Finds Extensions In Hidden Groups" item in the "Tweaks" section below.

Web Launcher "duration" Variable
The "%%duration%%" variable is the length of the call (in seconds), and is only usable when launching a web page at the end of a call.

Web Launcher "type" Variable
The "%%type%%" variable is set to "inbound", "outbound", or "queue", depending on the call.

Web User Panel Login
It's easy to login to your Web User Panel with HUD, click "File->Login to Web User Panel"

HUD Personal Beta
With this client, those customers who did not have HUD, now have a limited set of features to replace PBXtray.

Auto Copy Option
Added an option in the Chat settings allowing you to turn off auto copy.

Global Fonts Option
When checked, the font properties you specify will apply to all chats. If unchecked, the font properties you specify will apply only to that conversation.

Double Click To Bring Up HUD
Double clicking your HUD desktop alert will now bring the rest of the application into focus.

Enhanced Desktop Alert
We've added a bunch of buttons to the desktop alert, making it a more interactive piece of the software.

Conference Call State
HUD now displays when someone else is connected to a conference room.

Recording Privacy

Keeping HUD Windows Viewable
If an action would normally push a HUD window down past the bottom of your viewable desktop, HUD will automatically resize a window to keep it within the viewable desktop.

Snap Behavior
Improved snap logic to increase usability.

Spacebar Activates Interface Items
While interface (check box, buttons, etc.) are in focus, pressing the space bar will trigger it the same as a mouse click.

Improved Keyboard Interaction
HUD now shows you button and other interface items that are selected by default. You can use your keyboard to navigate and select these items.

Double Action Prevention
Many buttons in HUD were changed so that a double click would not perform the action twice. This is for you click happy people out there :)

Launch Page Once Per Call Option
The Web Launcher now launches a page only once per call, with no option to change the behavior.

Added support for OSX network users.

We increased HUD's performance by lowering the amount of RAM used and improving CPU efficiency.

Extension Search Finds Extensions In Hidden Groups
Searching for someone in HUD? Now you'll find them even if their in a hidden or collapsed group.

Extension Search Pattern Matching
The search will now match the text you typed with the beginning of names. Typing two names no longer produces a search for two independent names, it matches on the text as you typed it.

Drag To Dial
When dragging a single phone number to your extension to dial, it will dial it instead of displaying a menu of just a single number to choose from.

Voicemail Button Tooltip
Tooltip now says "Send call to voicemail"

Window Size Increase
Call Parking's previous minimum size was too small to accommodate scroll bars.

Second Call Hangs Up Calls Placed Through Windows Dialer (HUDTAPI)
After using the Windows Dialer to place a call. If a second call comes in, the first call would automatically hang up.

"Help! I cannot see my HUD" Leaves Some HUD Windows Off Screen
This feature now brings the entire application back into view.

Outlook Contact Recognition
External numbers were not being matched correctly with their appropriate contact. We found the cause of this and fixed it.

Missed Call Events
Fixed a condition that caused HUD to not process call events. This bug caused calls that had already ended to continue to display, prevented new calls from being seen, and other state issues.

Window Detaching Upon Screen Resolution Change
HUD windows now remain where you left them even after changing screen resolution or undocking your laptop.

Window Position When Resizing Windows Taskbar
HUD will automatically shrink if you grow your taskbar so that the HUD window is not displayed under your Windows taskbar.

Corrected an issue with auto-away, causing a person to see themselves as "Available", but "Away" to others.

Double Menus
Under some conditions, previous versions would allow multiple menus such as "File" and "View" to be open at the same time.

HUDTAPI Not Selected As Default Line In Outlook 2007.
HUDTAPI is now selected as the default line in Outlook 2007. Users no longer need to do this manually.

HUD Window Resizing On Vista
Added support for changes in Vista causing HUD windows to not resize correctly.

Web Launcher Launching Multiple Windows For A Single Call
Found several issues causing multiple launches on a single call. We fixed this.

Font Style
Fixed issues with setting custom fonts.

Incoming Chat Appears As An Old Conversation
When your chat window was open, and a new conversation was started by someone else, the message would appear as an old conversation. We fixed this.

Outlook Add-in Remains After Uninstall (Vista)
The HUD Add-in is now properly removed from Outlook after uninstalling HUD.

Outlook Add-in Installs When Outlook Is Not Installed
We've added some checks so that HUD will not try to install the Outlook Add-in if Outlook is not installed.

Web Launcher Opening Multiple Web Addresses
Spaces in the Web Launcher would cause the feature to open multiple web addresses.

Conversations Drew Twice When Switching Tabs
This resulted in a bounce effect when switching conversation tabs.

Newly Created Conversations Removed All Previous Messages
When someone started a new conversation with you while you were already chatting with another person, if they sent two messages then all messages except for the most recent would dissapear.

Current Conversation Tab Hides After Window Resize
Corrected issue causing your current conversation to hide after resizing the chat window.

Conversation Rendered As A Single Line
When switching tabs, HUD would show the conversation as a single vertical line for a split second before re-rendering the text in the proper format.

Message Font Size After Installation
After upgrading, HUD would show your previous chat conversations in a larger than normal font the very first time you viewed the conversation.

Web Address Processing Does Not Highlight Last Character
Pasting a web address with a space at the end of it caused the last character not to highlight when it was posted to chat.

Fixed the issue preventing HUD from recognizing directories of web addresses.

Switching Chat Tabs Did Not Scroll To Bottom Of Conversation
If text was in the chat search, switching chat tabs did not automatically scroll you to the bottom of the conversation.

URL (web link) Highlighting
We fixed a lot of issues relating to URLs shown in chat, including the problem of only part of the surface area being clickable.

Font Resizing
In some cases, you were unable to resize your chat font.

Normalizing Font Color
The "Normal Color" button now works properly.

Formatting After Typing A URL (web link)
Corrected issue where custom font formatting would reset after typing a URL.

Window Size Memory
Your chat window will now remain the same size you set it to even after closing.

Tab Selection
Clicking empty space by chat tabs will no longer select the closest tab.

Relative Position To Windows Taskbar
The Desktop Alert by default now appears above the highest point of the windows taskbar so that it does not overlap.

Contact Matching
When receiving a second call, their vCard will no longer reference the contact from the first call.

Duplicate Text
In some cases, the desktop alert would show the last few characters of the extension again, causing it to look something like "Persons Name (7402) 402)" instead of "Persons Name (7402)". This is fixed.

Text Truncation
Fixed the issue where name truncation did not refresh upon name change, causing shorter names to have an ellipsis.

Window Position
Fixed a problem causing the Desktop alerts to appear below the bottom of your screen.

Redraw Speed
Increased the redraw speed of this area.

Deleted Groups Still Display
After removing extension groups, they were removed from the group list but remained in the main Extensions window.

Record Button Selection
We found that the record button selection area was too large and overlapped other buttons. We fixed this by shrinking the area.

Recorded Extensions Displayed For Everyone
If someone else was being recorded, HUD would show them as recording regardless of permissions. Recorded extensions should only display for those who have the permission to record them.

Multiple Group Focus
We've prevented multiple extension groups from being highlighted at once.

Changing Agent Status
You can now change an agents login/out status even when they are on a call.

Monitor/Barge Failed Randomly
We discovered a condition that resulted in no action from the client after clicking the "OK" button in the barge confirmation notice. This prevented users from barging extensions at seemingly random times.

Extension Search Fails
Active HUD tooltips prevented the Extension Search from working. Typing a name would have no effect.

Initiate Call With Enter/Return Key (Vista)
Vista installs encountered problems with creating a call via pressing "Enter" or "Return" once a number was entered into the call field.

OSX Expiration Update
Removed expiration date from clients.

"hudtapi.out" File Growth
Removed a condition where a "hudtapi.out" file grew to a very large size in the "C:" directory.

Barge Privacy
The barge call status is "private" now and will not display to anyone but the extension who is barging.

HUD Chat
HUD now has a full chat client built into it -- this means that your employees can send instant messages on your own private chat network. This is great for: a) companies that have turned off external chat (time-saver) and b) call centers who want to text-whisper to agents while they are on the phone.

Outlook Integration - Inbound Contact Match (XP only)
Your desktop alert will also show the actual *names* of people who are calling your extension -- provided that HUD can find their Caller-ID inside your Outlook Contact database. In addition, HUD will show you a clickable image of the caller\'s Microsoft vCard, allowing you to quickly view all stored details for the caller. This feature replaces and enhances the functionality found in PBXtray.

Outlook Integration - Outbound Dialing (XP Only)
You can now right-click either an email message or a contact to have HUD dial it. This feature uses the standard TAPI interface and replaces the functionality found in PBXtray.

Desktop Alert
When your extension rings, you will now see an optional desktop alert that informs you of the call and Caller-ID. You can also display this alert when you make outbound calls. This feature both replaces and enhances the functionality found in PBXtray.

Browser Screen-pop
HUD can optionally launch a Web browser to a custom URL when your extension rings. This is great for looking up inbound callers in your favorite Web-based CRM Package. Or just Google callers for fun! This feature replaces and enhances the functionality found in PBXtray.

Macintosh Users - Rejoice!
HUDpro is now available for the OSX platform. Although we have invested a lot of time getting our OSX version ready for you, it is still a bit buggier than the PC version. So, please be patient as we iron out the kinks. If you are a Mac user you must download HUDpro here:

Click to Call Mobile Phone

Live Sort of Extension Status
Want to quickly know which employee is on the phone? Now, HUD can sort your extensions in "continuous" mode, so you can always have your active callers at the top of the list. This is great for managers who need to monitor employee activity level!

Agent Login/out (CCE Only)
Agents can now log themselves in and out of their queues using HUD. In addition, agents will now be able to see their Login/out status.

If your phone system becomes unavailable, HUD now has the ability to verify which calls are still active and which are not when it reconnects, allowing it to clean up non existent calls.

"System Calling" Call State No Longer Shows
The "System Calling" call state (representing when the PBX is ringing your phone) no longer displays in the "Extensions" window. It is only a private state in My Extension.

Record Button Remains Lit After Hang-up.
When recording an extension, the record button would remain active (red) even after the call hung up.

Partial Phone Number
Numbers beginning with a "9" had it stripped, resulting in the display of a partial number. We fixed this.

Web Launcher Auto-Launch
Corrected issue preventing outbound calls from auto-launching.

Double Desktop Alerts
